Government report: Food ilnesses decline

Forget the recent E. coli outbreak in certain kinds of spinach - food is safer now than at any other time in the last decade. According to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, food-related illnesses are occurring at record-low rates. The reasons for the downfall in illnesses seem to be common sense. Not only are consumers handling food better at home, industry controls and inspections have become tighter and safer. The meat and poultry industry, according to the CDC, has made tremendous strides over the past couple of years. (Read more of this story)
