Hostel Scares Up the Top Slot

The horror film Hostel, in which people pay to go all BTK on random strangers, scared up enough money to open in first place this weekend, grossing a projected $20 million. The Chronicles of Narnia came in second place with $15 million, followed closely by King Kong in third place with $12 million. The much-debated Brokeback Mountain came back to the top ten, coming in at ninth place. New release Grandma's Boy didn't even make the top ten list; it opened at 13th place with $2,875,000. The intake from Hostel may not seem like alot, but it's a great profit for the studio, which spent just $5 million to produce the film.
