Our on-demand world just got a little bigger. AOL announced today that they've parterned with Warner Bros. to launch In2TV in January. The new service will offer "vintage programs", such as Welcome Back Kotter, Wonder Woman, and Kung Fu. The programs will be free, but viewers will not be allowed to record shows, or bypass 15-second commercials.

The service will initially include 6 channels, ranging from comedy to drama. In2TV plans to offer 300 episodes per month and about 100 shows in the first year. Warner Bros. has cleared 300 series, or about 14,000 episodes, for internet viewing. In some cases, the original music is replaced to avoid negotiating license fees. The programs will be available to anyone with a fast Internet link. In2TV will just stream the programs; you don't have to download a special program.

The service includes DVD-like features as well. You can watch a program full screen, or split-screen. The split-screen includes games and trivia related to the shows. Most of the shows to air on In2TV have been on the shelf for a while and aren't earning much money at all. (source)
