Alvar Hanso Revealed

Not only do we know more about the mother of all Hanso orientation films, we now have seen Alvar Hanso in person. In act three of five of the interactive The Lost Experience, players must find glyphs and codes hidden across the internet by Rachel Blake. Each code must then be entered into HansoExposed.com, where each code will unlock a second or two of a video clip. (Over the summer, 70 fragments will be released.) Once you have all the clips, you must then try to put them in the correct order to find out what the Dharma Initiative is all about.

This stage of the game has reached the half-way point and we are already getting a clearer picture of what the Dharma Initiative is all about. (We even learn what Dharma stands for!) More importantly, a recent fragment released showed us that the man speaking on the orientation film is none other than Alvar Hanso himself, the nefarious brainchild behind the Hanso Foundation. (Dr. Marvin Candle is usually seen on these orientation films.)

While ABC has said that elements of The Lost Experience may or may not tie in to the hit drama Lost, what we've seen of the video so far certainly fits with many hints that the show has given about the island's purpose.

At the end of the orientation film, known as the "Sri Lanka Video," you'll see Dr. Thomas Werner Mittelwerk addressing a room full of people about the Dharma Initiative. It is currently unclear what exactly he is addressing, though it looks like he is speaking to people who will soon be traveling to the island as part of the project. Mittelwerk is the heir apparent to Alvar Hanso, and may be behind Alvar Hanso's recent disappearance. He was also exposed by Rachel Blake to neither be a doctor, nor a CalTech graduate. He is also very much a stage actor and has an unfortunate indoor voice. To see some of the segments put together, please watch the video below.
