24 adds Lennix to ever-growing cast

In recent weeks, casting information for season six of FOX's hit thriller drama 24 has been flying left and right. In addition, a few remaining (ie, living) castmembers from last season will be returning. Here is who you can expect in Day 6, which premieres on the FOX network in January, 2007.

**WARNING: May contain indirect spoilers***

- Harry Lennix, who recently starred as Jim Gardner in ABC's Commander in Chief and as Lock in the Matrix sequels has been tapped for a "recurring role" next season.
- Adoni Maropis and Steven Schub also have recurring roles, possibly as terrorists in the next season.
- Michael Angarono, who played Jack's long-lost son on NBC's Will & Grace, is joining 24 next season on a "recurring basis" and thereby meeting the show's quota for having one featured teenager a season. (Past seasons have seen Kim Bauer, Jane Saunders, Kyle Singer, Behrooz Araz and Derek Huxley fill this important role.)
- Kal Penn, aka Kumar of Harold & Kumar fame, has signed on to play a man involved with the leader of a neighborhood mosque. Penn's character is thought to be the key to a terrorist plot.
- Eric Balfour will be reprising his role from season one has independant CTU contractor Milo Pressman. Balfour will be credited as a series regular. Meaning? He's probably dead by tenth hour.
- DB Woodside is reprising his role as Wayne Palmer. This season finds Wayne in the role of Commander in Chief, responding to the day's terrorist attacks.
- Regina King is joining DB in the B-plot, acting as Angela Palmer, the never-before-thought-of sister in the family. Angela is described as a "powerful advocacy lawyer."
- Peter MacNicol is joining the show as a series regular. Word is that he is a Presidential Special Advisor. And he was probably typecast as a mole. Just a hunch.
- Alexander Siddig from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is joining the show as one of the masterminds behind the terrorist plots for the day.
- Carlo Rota will be reprising his role as Morris O'Brian. I'm sure that just makes Chloe estatic. Hardly.
- Jayne Atkinson will be reprising her Karen Hayes charcter, only it looks like this time she'll be in the B-plot with Wayen Palmer & co.
- James Morrison will be reprising his role as Bill Buchanan. Whether he's in LA at CTU or in DC at the White House is currently unknown, though I would guess he's still director of CTU.
- Marisol Nichols will be joining the show as well. The exact title isn't confirmed, but she will be playing a higher-up suit at CTU.

In other casting news, TV Guide's Michael Ausiello has reported that CTU will have a new agent to head up field ops by the name of Samuels. (Curtis, where art thou?) In addition, somebody will be in a military prison. But that's all that we know about that.

According to Keifer Sutheland, next season will be "a lot more political." According to Keifer himself, "There are going to be some direct political statements made that I think are going to be controversial." Season six picks up almost two years after season five's finale, but without going in specifics on spoilers avaliable out there, I'll just say that the producers did not drop the Chinese plotline.
