A "Blackadder" Revival?

Long before he was Dr. House, Hugh Laurie appeared in the British cult classic, Blackadder. With an ensemble cast that also included Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson and Stephen Fry, this series dealt with a power-hungry man, Blackadder (Atkinson), who's power plays were often undermined by his assistant, Baldrick (Robinson). The show ended in 1999 with the special "Blackadder Back and Forth" and hasn't been heard from since.

Until now. Stephen Fry recently told contactmusic.com that he just spoke with Rowan Atkinson - who is currently filming a new "Mr. Bean" movie - and that he misses the "joys of Blackadder rehearsals and all that." Separately, Virgin.net is reporting that series veteran Ben Elton is currently working on a Blackadder screenplay that puts Blackadder and his crew in the midst of the Russian revolution. However, Stephen Fry isn't so sure about making a film adaption of the popular series. "There's a lot of feeling that we left it on such a high note that it would be a bad idea to go back. There's nothing worse than an overweight boxer past his prime lumbering into the ring past his sell-by date." (Story Found At: Cinematical)
