In Huntsville, Missouri, there is a jail for sale. The Randolph County Jail is about 45 miles north of Columbia, and was built in 1910. Outwardly, it looks like a stately home. Several sheriffs and their families resided there in one-half of the building, while inmates live in the other half - a 30-man cellblock of metal bunks and steel bars. With a new jail built, the county wants to get rid of this old one. So, what's the best way to sell an item like this? eBay! The county got the idea from it's neighbor, Howard County, where officials put a sheriff's residence and jail up for sale on the internet. And that auctioned closed out at $42,000! Bidding for this new jail is expected to start in a few weeks. And the minimum opening bid? $32,500. (source)
