"Weekend Politics" Removed From Lineup

The Delta Institute announced late on Friday, December 23, 2005 that they are ending Weekend Politics. "Interest was really low, and for the time it took to produce, it wasn't really worth it," said Charles Jurries, founder and acting directors of the Institute's Delta and Epsilon.

"We're restructuring our political unit for future project. Our test run of The Oval NewsWire last weekend was an excellent test for them and I'd like for the political unit to focus their energy on new, unique NewsWires from time to time, instead of repeating what political leaders said.

When asked if any new weekend feature was planned to take Weekend Politics place, Director Jurries shrugged. "Not currently, no. Unless you can think of one, I think I'll just stick with two for now."

Phillip Hurstd, project manager of the
Delta Political Unit had mixed feelings about the announcement. "While it's exciting that we get to flex our creative muscles, losing this regular slot is a real blow to our unit. We really enjoyed having that regular spot. And canceling it just before Christmas really hurts to. But we'll get through. After all, mid-term's are next year, so we'll be needed!"

The Delta Institute was founded in June, 2005.
