Get Ready for Zeta
The National Hurricane Center announced today that Tropical Storm Zeta formed in the eastern Atlantic Ocean. Zeta is currently about 1,000 miles south-southwest of the Azores islands, moving NW as about 8 mph. Zeta, the 27th named storm of the season, has maximum sustained winds of 50 mph. Some strengthening is forecasted, but the NHC predicts a weakening trend starting Saturday.
Never before in recorded tropical storm history have we gone into the Greek Alphabet. But already, we've gone through Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, and now Zeta. I kind of named The Epsilon Institute, thinking that Epsilon would be the last storm of the season. Ha! In addition to the unprecedented number of storms, we've also have a record-breaking 14 hurricanes this year. (source)
