Box Office: Aslan Eats Syriana for Lunch
They may have warred against the White Witch in the movie, but there was no battle at the Box Office for the Pevensie children, as The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe took top honors on the charts, pulling in an estimated $67 million for it's opening weekend. George Clooney's Syriana, which went into wide-release this weekend, came in at a distant second with an estimated $12 million. Charlize Theron's Aeon Flux dipped down from from no. 2 to sixth place. (TDI failed to mention a notable role for Charlize in last week's feature: Playing the delightful British woman, Rita, in Arrested Development)
