TDI Follow-Up: The Kenny Bartley Case
TDI has brought you the story of Kenny Bartley Jr., who allegedly (but by all accounts) murdered Ken Bruce, an assistant principle at Campbell County High School, and wounded two others. Since our last update, Bartley has remained in detention in the Knox County Juvenile Detention Facility. He'll be back in court in January to determine if his case will stay in a juvenile court or be moved to an adult court.
Bartley waived his right to a detention hearing. The reason he hasn't appeared before a judge is because there is no judge to hear the case. Judge Joe Ayer recused himself from the case, then Judge Patricia Hess recused herself from the case as well.
The two who were wounded in the assult have since been released from the hospital, and are now at home recovering.
