Typhoon Talim Update

File Under: Typhoon Talim
As promised, TDI is keeping an eye on Typhoon Talim, which reached near-Katrina strength while in the water. It has killed at least 56 people in eastern China, after unleashing torrential rains, triggering floods, and landslides. It had previously slammed Taiwan, where 3 were killed, and 59 injured. 40 lives were lost in the Anhui province alone. 27 people are still missing.

Typhoons are very common at this time of the year. But with a super-typhoon, it warrents attention. Thankfully, it has lost some of it's punch, and is no longer a super typhoon. But it's still strong enough to do serious damage when it slams into Okinawa. (source)
