Cease-Fire: Broken
File Under: The Middle-East
I would appear that the news cycle will never, ever stop. Now, even in the "slow" periods, there's enough news to talk about for hours and hours. But lately, so much BIG stuff has been going on. The death of Rehnquist, the John Roberts nomination hearings, Katrina, Rita, the ongoing 7/7 bombings investigation, and now... The Middle-East.Israeli aircraft have begun pounding suspected Hamas weapons facilities, in addition to other militant targets, all across the Gaza Strip. This so-called "crushing" airstrike is a retaliation after militants fired 35 rockets at Israeli towns. The rocket attack was the first major attack since the Gaza pullout.
2 confirmed Hamas militants died in attacks. 19 others were injured. The truce was 7 months old. Hamas is threatening revenge for Israel's retaliation. Israel's Defense Minister told his security chiefs that "the ground of Gaza should shake".
Expect a fresh cycle of violence and bloodshed over in the middle-east, as Hamas and Israel duke it out.
