The Princess Bride Sings!

File Under: Movie Musicals
Broadway, as we know, is having a tough go getting people to come in to see musicals. Probably because most of them stink, but that's just what I've heard. Personally? I can't give an informed opinion. But Broadway saw a huge surge in sales for Spamalot, the musical adapted from the very random cult classic, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Broadway executives were actually stunned to be attacting straight guys to musicals.

Now what movie has even more broad appeal than Monty Python? If you said Lord of the Rings, you're wrong. Though that will be a musical in the UK. If you said Spider-Man, you are also wrong, though that too will be a musical. Eh, so maybe that *was* technically correct. Whatever.

The latest film classic to get the musical treatment is... The Princess Bride. We don't really have any other details at this time.

Now, lots of musical versions of movies have failed, but TDI is hopeful that a musical with songs about a Prince Humperdinck, the Dread Pirate Roberts, Fezzik, and Inigo Montoya will do very well.

Life is pain, highness. Anybody who says otherwise is selling you something.
