Sure, we've all heard the plot for next season of 24, how it deals with the Chinese, and everything. It's "top secret", but it's still out there on the web. Vendetta's, cover-ups, deaths, yadayada. BUT WHO'S JOINING THE CAST? That's what we all wanted to know. Isn't it? It isn't? Because they get C to D-listers that no one has heard of? Oh. Well, then just ignore what I'm about to post then, m'kay?

Jean Smart is joining the cast as the First Lady. Charles Logan is still the President. And hopefully, after a year or two went by, he'll have grown a bit of a backbone. Probably not, though. I would expect Season 5 to be, in part, the "exodus of Charles Logan", with Sherry-redux manipulating the President, until, in the end, he stands up against her. Kinda like season 1. *sighs*

Connie Britton will be playing Keither Sutherland's ill-fated love interest. (yes, ill-fated... it's a odd-numbered season. They only live in even numbered seasons.) And Brady Corbet will be playing her teenage son, who highly dissaproves of the relationship between Keither and Connie.

CTU regulars Tony Almeida and Chloe O'Brian will be back for more action, and Curtis Manning is presumed to return as well. More fresh characters are expected to be announced over the next couple months. 24 will return in January, with 2-hour events held on consecutive nights.

UPDATE: Peter Wingfield will also be joining the cast. His role has not been disclosed, but is apparently a fairly major role.
